The rise of Labor Saving in t-shirt manufacturing at GPC's factory

In a groundbreaking move that promises to transform the landscape of t-shirt printing, Image Magic has recently implemented Brother Industries's cutting edge digital t-shirt printing system, the "DIGITAL LINE DL2400" at their Gifu Print Center (GPC) in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture. This technology is poised to not only enhance productivity but also revolutionize the industry's approach to labor efficiency.

GPC, established in 2021 as Image Magic's largest t-shirt printing manufacturing base in Japan, initially boasted over 50 Brother GTX garment printers. The introduction of the DIGITAL LINE DL2200, supervised by Brother Industries, marked a significant milestone in the Japanese market, setting the stage for a transformative journey towards labor saving automation.

The DIGITAL LINE DL2400 represents a leap forward in production efficiency, connecting 4 high-end units Brother GTX600 garment printers seamlessly. This innovation has drastically reduced the need for manual intervention, consolidating the entire printing process under the guidance of a single operator. The days of requiring 5 or 6 labors for a conventional Brother GTXpro's line are now a thing of the past, with Image Magic achieving a remarkable reduction to about 1/6 of the workforce.

This advanced system not only enhances efficiency but also diversifies production capabilities. The DL2400 boasts a maximum production capacity of approximately 150 pieces per hour, while the DL2200 follows closely behind at around 70 pieces per hour. Moreover, the automation allows for processing each piece with a different design in one job, seamlessly printing small quantities with individual designs without disrupting the workflow.

Makoto Yamakawa, CEO of Image Magic, envisions a future where the entire printing process, from printing to folding and sorting, operates with minimal human intervention. This commitment to automation aligns with Image Magic's business model, allowing them to print small quantities seamlessly, sort them efficiently, or ship them collectively to customers.

Beyond t-shirt printing, Image Magic's second factory is equipped with 6 units DTF (Direct To Film) printers, further expanding their footprint in the industry. These printers, utilized for textiles and the innovative "Charapita" business, are contributing to the company's goal of rewriting the garment printing landscape.

Their factory is not only transforming its own operations but also reshaping the broader garment printing industry. The wave of labor saving in t-shirt printing production has arrived, and GPC's factory stands at the forefront of this revolutionary transformation.
